The People Strategy Director is responsible for driving the continuous improvement of the organization’s talent strategy through creative thinking and innovation, to advance the Sunrise mission. This position will partner with senior business leaders to strengthen the talent profile and have a direct impact on growing and promoting the Sunrise culture. The Director will work across all lines of the HR organization to drive strategic talent initiatives, think innovatively, and align programs that will ultimately improve the company and the team member experience.

Essential Duties:

  • People Strategy Consulting– Provide strategic talent solutions and recommendations to the Vice President of Operations and their leadership team. Advise, coach and facilitate discussions with leaders so that together a talent strategy plan is built, implemented, and sustained. Partner with the VP to drive the talent vision and strategy for the regional team. Develop talent management initiatives for defined business areas by identifying and defining needs within the business.

  • Build a Talent Management Strategy– Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to understand the critical talent needs, help managers forecast, develop and implement the plan for growing or acquiring needed talent, using data, metrics, and competitive intelligence to guide planning and execution.

  • Organizational Development & Change Management–Drive and champion change. Develop change management plans for organizational initiatives; facilitate change/ solutions that will enable the successful completion of business objectives.

  • Leadership Development -Partner with the Learning & Organizational Development team to develop leadership strategies that align with current development programs and strengthen the skill base of existing and future leaders to enhance the leadership talent pipeline.

  • Team Member Development -Partner with the Learning & Organizational Development team to surface needs and close skill gaps by identifying development programs that target skill enhancement, career pathing, and competency development.

  • Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making with senior leaders

  • Maintain healthy and collaborative working relationships with other disciplines that bring out the best in people and their work

  • Maintain diverse knowledge of healthcare trends, industry direction, competitive intelligence, and market research with the ability to integrate the information into actionable strategic and long-range plans as it relates to talent

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree preferred

  • Five (5) years management/operational leadership experience (or related experience with Sunrise); healthcare industry preferred

  • Business analytical skills with the ability to link information to action and results

  • Able to use research data and analytics to innovate and inform solution design

  • Experience networking with high level business partners.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Politically savvy

  • Self-starter – willing to work with leaders to identify people challenges and build programs and solutions to meet any gaps

  • Consultative in nature, by offering solutions and a point of view - not dictatorial

  • Strong driver and champion of change

  • Handles ambiguity well – actually thrives in it

  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills

  • Has ability to multi-task under pressure and works independently with minimal supervision or direction

  • Competent in organizational, time management skills

  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication

  • Ability to handle multiple and competing priorities

  • Able to travel in geographic area

  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) & Sunrise applications with the ability to learn new applications
